Annual Backyard BBQ at Stonemill Farms draws record crowd
Always one of the most popular annual events at Stonemill Farms, the annual Backyard BBQ drew a record crowd numbering more than 500 residents this year.
Maybe it was the picture-perfect weather on Sunday, June 14, offering clear skies and some long-awaited sunshine. Or it could have been all the buzz leading up to the event on InsideStonemillFarms.com, our popular and widely used Neighborhood Network. Or maybe, the record crowd could be partly due to the growing number of families who continue to move to Stonemill Farms, choosing new homes priced from the $270,000s to $500,000s.
Whatever the reason, the sprawling Stonemill Farms Community
Center was filled with residents of all ages enjoying great food
and refreshments, games, crafts, and activities such as face
painting, minnow races and a bouncy castle. To top it all
off, live entertainment was provided by a band led by talented
Stonemill Farms resident, David Nix.
Because the weather was so quintessentially summer, the fun spilled over to the Stonemill Farms Aquatic Center, where residents enjoyed the junior Olympic and splash pools, or simply lounged around to soak up the sunshine.
"The Backyard BBQ is one of our signature events at Stonemill Farms, a tradition where neighbors love to get together to kick off the summer," said Jamie Tharp, regional marketing director for Newland Communities. "It's always just the beginning of an entire season of pool dates, play dates, and socializing at the unique neighborhood amenities and along the trails."
