Community Amenities
With approximately 250 acres to be devoted to recreation and
culture, Telfair is a community where residents can exercise mind,
body and spirit every day.
Miles of greenbelt
trails meander throughout Telfair, connecting homes and
neighborhoods to our central 70-acre lake system, Cornerstone Elementary School, and community
parks and recreation centers.
Telfair amenities already open include a swim center with an
architectural gem of a poolhouse, along with many neighborhood
parks and squares highlighted by fountains, artwork and
playgrounds. All recreation centers, parks and squares are
Wi-Fi accessible.
Opened in 2009, Telfair Central Pool is located in the geographic
heart of our 2,018-acre community, at the corner of University
Blvd. and New Territory Blvd. Telfair Central Hall, scheduled
in Phase II, will provide community gathering space for
residents, along with a proposed fitness center* and offices
for the Telfair Community Association and the TelfairLife Community
Coordinator. Greenbelt trails will connect Telfair Central to
the overall trail system within Telfair.
When completed, Telfair Central will also be the social heart of
our growing community, offering approximately 15 acres of
recreation, culture and convenient shopping.
Another highlight of Telfair Central will be the historic Central
State Farm Building, which was donated to the City of Sugar Land
and is expected to be transformed into a satellite
facility of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. This
museum is planned to open in Fall, 2009.
An approximate 70-acre City of Sugar Land regional park is also
planned to be developed by the City of Sugar Land within
Telfair.
Just as important as our "physical" amenities are our "virtual"
amenities, including TelfairLife.com, which provides a vibrant
calendar of social activities throughout the year for residents of
all ages.
